NBA 2K have provided a sneak peek for fans as to how the classic 1992 United States men’s Olympic basketball team will look on the next release of their game.

2K showed a screenshot via their Twitter of how the two US Olympic sides, 2016’s and the 1992 Dream Team, will appear, by recreating their official team photos.

The Dream Team was first included in NBA 2K’s 2013 edition and will be making a second appearance when the game is released this September.

It appears other international squads will also be part of 2k17 with the Australian Boomers featuring players like Andrew Bogut, Patty Mills and Matthew Dellavedova.

Players will have to pre-order the game to have the bonus addition of the Dream Team squad and by doing so will also get the game four days early on the 16th of September.

Why are they called the ‘Dream Team’?

The 1992 USA Olympic Basketball team are widely accepted as one of the greatest sporting teams of all time, with the United States only including NBA players for the first time at the ’92 games in Barcelona.

Their squad included some of the greatest players in NBA history such as Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird and Charles Barkley who helped the USA crush every side they came up against.

They won the gold medal without losing a match, and with their lowest point differential in a victory coming in the Gold Medal game against Croatia, where they defeated their opponents by 32 points.

Coach Mike Krzyzewski’s current Team USA will aim to replicate the Dream Team by winning the gold medal as they seek their third consecutive Olympic title when they head to Rio de Janeiro for the 2016 Games this week.
