DeMarcus Cousins has a brilliant answer to reporter's weird question

DeMarcus Cousins is the type of player who speaks his mind whenever possible. He doesn't shy away from the tough questions and is not a fan of fluffy, nonsense ones. Kind of in the same mould as San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich.

The Sacramento Kings big man is currently in Rio de Janeiro with Team USA as they look to claim their third consecutive Olympics gold medal.

Ahead of the tournament that tips off tomorrow, Cousins was answering questions from the media when one reporter asked him 'if you could ask yourself one question what would it be?'

Cousins responded in his typically sarcastic fashion by saying: "I would ask myself, what would that one question be?"

Mind. Blown.

The 25-year-old has been a dominant force for the Sacramento Kings for the past five years but sadly hasn't had the pieces around him to make a successful push for the playoffs.

As the center approaches the prime of his career, the Kings are still some way from challenging and it's a shame to see such a talent being wasted in the lower reaches of the league. As a two-time All-Star, his talents are clearly being recognised, but the franchise isn't doing much to help him reach the top.

Much like Carmelo Anthony, the Olympics and Team USA offers Cousins the chance to succeed and get away from the troubles of franchise life. He will enjoy the next two weeks.
