Paul Pogba is closer than ever to securing a return to Manchester United.

For months now the Frenchman has been linked with a big-money move to Old Trafford and it would seem the saga is drawing to an exciting close.

In an official statement released on their website, United confirmed that Pogba will undergo a medical after agreeing football's first £100 million deal with Juventus.

It said: "Paul Pogba has been granted permission to have a medical in order to finalise his transfer from Juventus to Manchester United."

Accompanying the statement was a simple yet emphatic picture containing the hashtag '#POGBACK'.

Football fans have since reacted to the news on Twitter, but it's Pogba's response that is most interesting.

The 23-year-old has remained tight-lipped throughout the saga and he maintained that approach in the below tweet.

He said: "When too many people talk nobody understands. Talk very soon."

Regardless of Pogba's silence on the matter, his return is imminent after United and Juventus agreed a deal in the region of £112 million.

Twenty-five million of that sum is due to be pocked by the Frenchman's agent, Mino Raiola, whilst the remaining £90-odd million will go some way to help the Old Lady justify Gonzalo Higuain's recent £75.3 million move from Napoli.

As for United - well, with Pogba in their ranks, the Red Devils will surely be favourites to win the Premier League having also signed Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Eric Bailly and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
