Harley backs Hornets to rise

Watford midfielder Jon Harley has targeted a climb up the Championship table after the much-needed 2-1 win over Preston.

Harley netted his first goal for over two years in the win with a crisp finish from the corner of the area and insists Adrian Boothroyd's side can still challenge this year.

"That goal has been a long time coming but it's a nice feeling. It was good to show the character to bounce back," said Harley. "The start we've had isn't a fair reflection of how we feel we have done. We feel we should be higher."

"As soon as the transfer window closed, we knew this is the squad we had to go on with and we believe it is as good as anyone else's. It's not a problem to us.

"Our aim before the season was to get promotion and that has not changed. It's not the start we would have liked but we still have belief."
