How is Conor McGregor preparing for his rematch against Nate Diaz at UFC 202?

Well, in an incredibly bizarre way.

McGregor will be making his final touches to his training ahead of one of the biggest fights of his career and it seems he’s leaving nothing to chance.

BT Sport have released footage of him in one of his intense sessions lying on the canvas of an Octagon.

He then gets his trainers to punch him 25 times in the stomach. What an animal.

Take a look at the training video below:

McGregor has already warned Diaz just how seriously he’s treating the rematch next weekend.

"I'm taking this contest very, very seriously," he said.

"I've flown in specific body types to replicate Nate's skinny, tall frame. The boy won the lotto last time, he knows it, I know it... well August 20th I get my revenge and I look forward to it."

The Irishman is certainly looking for revenge after his step up to welterweight in March resulted in Diaz winning by submission in the second round.

The pair were scheduled to meet as the headline fight at UFC 200 but the clash was cancelled after president Dana White was unsatisfied with McGregor’s failure to complete specific media requirements.

McGregor on John Cena

McGregor also continued his war of words against WWE on Friday after he slammed John Cena.

"What's the main guy? John Cena," the UFC featherweight champion said at a gym day to promote UFC 202.

"He's 40. He's 40 years of age. He's walking around in a luminous orange t-shirt and a headband talking about nobody can see him. We can see him right there. He's a big fat, 40-year-old failed Mr. Olympia mother f*cker."
