Gary Lineker presents Match of the Day in just his underwear

Gary Lineker done it.

The TV presenter made a promise last year to present the first Match of the Day in just his underwear if Leicester City won the Premier League. Which, of course, they did.

And Lineker sent the nation wild as he introduced the show in some boxer shorts with Leicester's badge stitched on.

It was on December 14, after Leicester regained their lead at the top of the Premier League with a 2-1 win over Chelsea, that Lineker sent the famous tweet.

“Yes! If Leicester win the @premierleague I’ll do the first MOTD of next season in just my undies.”

Lineker’s promise received over 74,000 retweets and, while not everybody expected him to deliver, it’s been just one of the great stories that came out of Leicester’s remarkable triumph.

“It’s been quite fun,” the former Leicester and England striker told the BBC.

“I did the tweet knowing categorically that there was zero chance of Leicester continuing on the line they were going to win the league. I was spectacularly wrong, but I'm so glad I was."

Alan Shearer, who is appearing on Match of the Day with Lineker and Ian Wright, trolled the host by posting a rather disturbing image of a large individual wearing walking up stairs wearing just a thong, adding the caption: “Thought I was early to the @BBCMOTD studios but looks like @GaryLineker beat me here!”

Ever since Leicester sealed the title in May, we’ve been wondering if Lineker would actually present Britain’s most popular sports show, watched by millions, in just his underpants.
