WWE rumor suggests Cesaro will be moving to Smackdown

One of the more interesting aspects of the brand split was the possibility of roster moves and trades between Raw and Smackdown.

Less than a month into the New Era there are rumors that have picked up stream regarding one such trade.

The rumor mill is buzzing that at some point in the near future Cesaro will be traded from Raw to Smackdown. As of yet there are no indications for what Raw would get in return, but for both the wrestler and the Tuesday night show the trade makes plenty of sense.

On Raw Cesaro is a main event level talent buried deep on the babyface side of the roster.

The WWE is pushing Finn Balor hard as the the leader of the Raw brand, while Cesaro is also behind the likes of Brock Lesnar, Sami Zayn, and (eventually) a rebuilt Roman Reigns when it comes to being pushed.

Smackdown however is crying out for another top crowd favorite to run the brand alongside Dean Ambrose.

With John Cena about to disappear for a couple of months filming his reality show, and with Randy Orton a much better fit as a heel, it leaves Dolph Zigger as the only other viable top face on the show.

There is a massive drop off after Zigger with the likes of Kane and Kalisto being the next in line on the good guy side of the depth chart. Neither of those wrestlers would be taken seriously as a WWE World Champion at this point in their careers.

If the WWE brass believe in Cesaro at all then this is a trade that should be made soon after Summerslam. The next month or so will tell us a lot about the direction of the Swiss Superman's career.
