One of the biggest names from WCW will be making a return to the WWE this weekend as Brooklyn prepares itself for Summer Slam.

The annual event takes place this Sunday night and the WWE have orchestrated a whole weekend worth of media events.

Return of a legend

One name confirmed to be returning for the Summer Slam events is former WCW Champion Goldberg.

Goldberg had a brief run in WWE following the collapse of WCW but never really hit the heights of the company.

His WWE career would end following a WrestleMania clash with Brock Lesnar - ironically in NewYork at WrestleMania XX.

Now for the first time since 2004, Goldberg will make a return to the company as he works with WWE and 2K Sports to promote the launch of WWE 2K17.

While Goldberg has already been confirmed to be appearing under the WWE banner for the first time since leaving the company, there has been no word on a possible appearance at Summer Slam itself.

A return to the ring has been speculated for a while now, but there is no confirmation that we will see him step out from behind the curtain at the Barclays centre.

The situation could arguably be compared to that of Sting who signed on to work with WWE in 2014 and would represent the company at events like comic con for months before making an in ring debut.

The ring return of Goldberg would surely bring the fans in droves but his time may be running out for him to have one last run in WWE.
