It’s been very interesting to see which players have been left out of the starting XI during the opening day of the weekend, especially by new managers.
Pep Guardiola left Joe Hart on the bench during their clash against Sunderland on Saturday, prompting plenty of speculation regarding the future of the England goalkeeper.
And, just over 48 hours later, there was another high-profile name being left out of Chelsea’s starting line-up by Antonio Conte. That man, of course, was Cesc Fabregas.

Immediately after the match, there were several reports suggesting Fabregas is on his way out of Stamford Bridge.
The Mirror claimed that the Spanish midfielder has been offered to Real Madrid as Conte tries to offload him before the transfer window slams shut.
And there appears to be some truth in that report after Zinedine Zidane has spoken out about the prospect of him joining the European Champions.
Zidane on Fabregas
Zidane certainly didn’t rule out a deal for the “great player” but insisted it would be complicated if he did join the Bernabeu.
"If you want to put another central midfielder into the mix then it becomes complicated,” he said, per ESPN.
"Cesc is a great player but it is not very straightforward. I am going to end up with a squad where three or four players do not get selected. To therefore, put another player in there makes it difficult."
Fabregas to Madrid?
With the likes of Casemiro, Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Isco and Mateo Kovacic in the Madrid ranks, Fabregas would find it difficult to play regular first-team football at in the Spanish capital.
However, a return to his native country, as well as participating in the Champions League - albeit as a bit-part player - may appeal to the 29-year-old.
The fact that Fabregas is a former Barcelona player could complicate matters, though. The midfielder spent six years at the famed La Masia academy before returning to the Nou Camp after an eight-year spell with Arsenal.
One thing is for sure, it seems as though Conte prefers a central midfield pairing of N’Golo Kante and Nemanja Matic for Chelsea meaning Fabregas is likely to be seeking a move before the end of August.
