Conor McGregor is widely renowned for his fiery temper but no one could have quite predicted what would happen in his latest press conference.

The 28-year-old turned up late to the event after UFC chief Dana White said he needed to learn "respect" for others and when he did, all hell broke loose.

Upon walking into the press room and taking a seat alongside Nate Diaz, McGregor said: "Yeah I'm late", at which point his unimpressed opponent stood up and left.

And then, as Diaz departed, McGregor told him to "get the f**k out of here".

Cue chaos.

In the video below, after an onslaught of abuse, the UFC duo began to launch bottles of water at each other from across the room.

Diaz began the war by initially throwing a bottle, at which point McGregor stood up and threw everything in sight at his arch rival.

The pair's altercation only adds to the hype ahead of their rematch at UFC 202 on Saturday night.

Diaz submitted McGregor with a second-round chokehold in April but the Irishman is confident of exacting revenge when they meet.

He said, per the Daily Mail: "I'm still going to march forward, I'm still going to press him, I'm still going to bust him.

"There's just going to be a lot more in my tank. I'm going to be a lot more prepared for a man that can stay in there with me.

"But even still, I struggle to give him past round three."
