Paul Pogba explains why Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been mocking him

He may be the world’s most expensive player, but that doesn’t save Paul Pogba from some friendly banter in the Manchester United squad.

The Frenchman has made a sensational return to Old Trafford in a £89 million move, but he’s probably not the biggest name in the United changing room.

Why? Because of a certain Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

And it sounds like the legendary Sweden international has wasting no time in putting Pogba in his place.

Pogba has revealed how the former Paris Saint-Germain striker has teased him about the boxing training he uploaded on Instagram during his summer break.

“Zlatan made fun of my training when I was on holiday. The boxing training. That was funny. He said, ‘you don’t need all this to beat someone, you just need one punch”, Pogba said.

In case you haven’t seen it, here is the training video Zlatan has mocked mercilessly.

To be fair, Ibrahimovic is probably the best man to comment on Pogba’s training routine. The enigmatic forward is, himself, a keen martial arts fan and, when he’s not on the pitch, is busy practising his moves.

Ibrahimovic and Pogba's friendship

But it seems that Ibrahimovic and Pogba have already formed a great friendship off the pitch.

After Pogba signed for the club, Ibrahimovic tweeted a picture of the pair of them with the caption: "Finally my shirt brought him back. @paulpogba,” claiming that it was him that made Pogba return to the Theatre of Dreams.

Pogba then tried to get his say in an Instagram video.

In the post, Pogba tries to mock the new Man United No. 9 by joking that Zlatan wanted a picture with him to improve his public profile and 'get famous'.

Not prepared to be outdone by his new teammate, Ibrahimovic replies in typical Ibrahimovic fashion with a cheeky remark: "Come on, I make you famous now."

Pogba then posted a tweet seemingly calling Ibrahimovic ’Thor.’

While we’re not too sure on the connection between Zlatan and the American superhero, it just adds to the bromance the pair seemingly have.

It’s clear they’re on the same wavelength off the pitch, but can the pair help United succeed on the pitch?

We’ll get an idea on Friday evening as Pogba is set to make his second debut during their home clash against Southampton.

Don't expect him to be uploading any more Instagram videos of him doing a bit of boxing in the near future, though.
