Liverpool fans are reeling after their surprise 2-0 defeat at the hands of Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday.

Following their thrilling opening weekend victory over Arsenal, the Reds were given a stern reminder that anyone can beat anyone in the Premier League.

Liverpool were completely outplayed by the newly promoted side and will likely fall into bottom half of the table with two games played.

With the wounds of defeat still fresh, no fan wants to be on the receiving end of snarky comments from rival supporters.

Unfortunately for Liverpool fans, they had to endure the misery of a Manchester United legend suggesting the Anfield outfit is not a top four club.

Rio Ferdinand has posted a controversial tweet about the Reds’ prospects of securing automatic qualification for the Champions League come the end of the season.

The former United defender has never been the most popular of figures among Liverpool fans given his legendary status at Old Trafford, and he has hardly boosted his standing with this cheeky dig after their loss to Burnley.

Having been told their team is incapable of fulfilling their season objective barely a fortnight into the new campaign, Liverpool fans have unleashed on Ferdinand in response to his comment.
