Arsene Wenger had a brilliant response to a question about transfers

Arsenal's 0-0 draw with Leicester inevitably brought about fresh anger from Gunners fans over their club's lack of activity this transfer window.

It wasn't quite the humiliation of the previous week, when Arsene Wenger's men conceded four goals at home to Liverpool, but it still wasn't enough to notch up their first three points of the season.

All the attention is now focusing on if and when they will sign a striker and centre-back, something which has clearly irked Wenger.

In fact, in his post-match press conference, he clearly didn't appreciate being asked numerous questions about potential signings.

Brilliant response

The Frenchman understandably wanted to focus on the performances of the players he already has instead of speculating about a possible move for Shkodran Mustafi.

Le Professeur was quick to praise Rob Holding, coming up with this fantastically sarcastic response when a journalist asked him about transfers. Take a look here:

The young defender was impressive as Arsenal kept a clean sheet against the champions, keeping out two players who themselves turned down moves to the Emirates in Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez.

Fans demand signings

Still, that hasn't been enough to placate fans and the media alike who are baying for new signings.

Arsenal could now find it hugely difficult to compete in a season when Manchester United and Manchester City have both spent in excess of £100million to bolster their squads.

Wenger may have batted away the question brilliantly, but he will be more aware than anyone that his job could be on the line if his side are made to pay for their quiet summer.

Who should Arsenal be signing? Will Mustafi be enough? Have your say in the comments.
