Tonight was an emotional night on RAW as newly crowned Universal Champion Finn Balor was forced to relinquish the title that he won just 24 hours earlier.

The Demon prevailed over Seth Rollins at Summer Slam on Sunday night and despite all the celebrations since then, there was one major downfall for Balor.

A long time off

Balor suffered a shoulder injury during the match when Rollins sent him flying into the barricades outside the ring.

Once Balor had handed the title back, it led to a plethora of talent coming out to make a claim for the championship.

First was Seth Rollins who was swiftly followed by Sami Zayn, Chris Jericho, Kevin Owens, Big Cass and Roman Reigns who clearly all feel like they deserve a title shot.

This led to Commissioner Stephanie McMahon and General Manager Mick Foley announcing a series of matches that would run throughout the night.

We would see Rollins face Zayn, Reigns vs Jericho, Owens against Neville and Big Cass take on Rusev with each winner advancing to a fatal 4-way for the title next week on RAW.

Rollins, Owens, Cass and Reigns proved to be the victors and will compete for the championship next week.

In the meantime the fans are just wondering how much of the 6 month injury lay off Balor will end up facing.

Lets not forget, WrestleMania 33 is roughly 6 months away and everyone will be eager to see if the Demon is back in time for the big event or not.
