Bayley wasn't originally meant to challenge for Women's title on the main roster

Bayley made her long-awaited main roster debut on Monday night after carrying the flag for the women's division in NXT for at least the past year.

The serial hugger is one of the most popular babyfaces in the entire company and she will provide a massive boost to the women's division on Monday Night Raw.

Bayley's first action was to challenge the Women's champion, Charlotte. Of course, the daughter of Ric Flair refused to give the newcomer her wish and instead forced her to have a match with her lackey Dana Brooke.

Bayley duly dispatched of her former NXT rival to cap off a well-received debut, but it seems, according to reports, that she has been inserted higher up the card than was originally intended.

NODQ.com has reported that original plans for Bayley's debut did not call for her to be in the title picture on the main roster. WWE is now building for Bayley vs. Charlotte for the championship now that Sasha Banks is out of action.

It's believed that the company decided to go with Bayley is because they don't really have another top babyface on the RAW brand to match up against Charlotte at this time.

Their report also states that Banks is actually expected to be out of action for one or two months now that she doesn't need back surgery. Had she needed to go under the knife she could have been on the shelf for over six months.

There is no doubt that Banks' injury has forced the company's hands here. They simply don't have any other top babyfaces to take her place and Bayley is a logical replacement.

This will likely result in a title match at Clash of Champions on September 25; do you think Bayley could unseat Charlotte as the Women's champion?
