Liverpool make £11m bid for exciting Borussia Dortmund prospect

Liverpool fans will probably give their transfer window a grade of seven or eight out of 10.

Early signs suggest Sadio Mane could be among the best signings of the summer, while supporters have to be excited about the arrivals of Georginio Wijnaldum and Joel Matip.

Much of the deadwood has been shifted, too. Jose Enrique and Kolo Toure have left the club, and receiving a total of £60 million for Christian Benteke, Joe Allen, Jordon Ibe and Martin Skrtel is just excellent business.

When Mario Balotelli eventually leaves Anfield, that’s yet more income that can be added to next January’s transfer kitty.

And according to the Telegraph, Jurgen Klopp isn’t done just yet.

£11m bid

The transfer window closes on Wednesday but the Liverpool boss still has areas he wishes to improve. And Klopp is ready to raid his former team to sign the attacker that he wants.

The Telegraph claim that Liverpool have made an £11m bid for Borussia Dortmund winger Christian Pulisic. Here's what he can do.

BVB don't want to sell

With Lazar Markovic set to leave the club on loan, it makes sense that Liverpool are targeting a winger, even despite their plethora of attacking options.

But signing Pulisic, 17, won’t be easy. Klopp was the Dortmund manager when the winger was signed to the club’s academy and is keen on a reunion, but BVB have no interest in selling their exciting prospect.

Which is hardly surprising. Pulisic is one of the most exciting talents in Europe, so much so that he has been fast-tracked to Dortmund’s senior squad.

The news has excited Liverpool fans, but, despite the sizeable bid, it appears they will do well to sign the United States star.
