This past Sunday at the SummerSlam pay-per-view, Charlotte made history by defeating Sasha Banks to become a two-time WWE Women’s Champion, a result many fans saw as a shock as Banks recently captured the title herself.
Since then, it was revealed that nagging injuries were the reason she dropped the title to Charlotte, but now that she doesn’t need surgery, she could be back in action sooner rather than later.
However, the surprising result wasn’t the only thing fans were talking about, especially on social media.

WWE fans were left unimpressed with the match, especially at how sloppy their match was compared to incredible matches they’ve put on in the past.
There were a number of botched spots in their bout with many people believing the new champion could have seriously injured The Boss.
It seems like the WWE officials agreed with what was being said on social media, as PWMania are reporting that Charlotte was scolded backstage following her victory.
They’re reporting that they felt Charlotte was careless in the ring, before yelling at her as to how she could have caused further harm to her opponent, especially when Banks was already dealing with injuries heading into the match.
It was quite strange to see the high volume of botches in this match, as both women share so much chemistry in the ring dating back to their NXT days, and it’s their matches why fans were so excited to see them come to the main roster.
Hopefully, this was a one-off, and it’s not something Charlotte will have to go through again, but it’s clear they see value in her as she’s now a two-time champion.
However, if she does continue to put on noticeable and regular below-par performances, it won’t be too much of a surprise to see her drop the championship for the second time.
