Lionel Messi does things no other human on the planet can do with a football. He shows us that on a near weekly basis.
Yet, somehow, the diminutive Argentinian is still capable of producing moments of magic that leave you lost for words.
The latest example of Messi's otherworldly talents came 65 minutes into Barcelona's Sunday night game against Atletic Bilbao, when he produced a ludicrous cross-field volley pass that few other players, past or present, would have even attempted, never mind pulled off.

The Barcelona captain is more famed for his jinking runs, effortless skills and close quarters passing. But, as the video below shows, Lionel Messi can even make 'long balls' look beautiful...
Everything about the 35-yard pass is so aesthetically pleasing that you could spend hours playing it on repeat and you wouldn't get bored. The 'Oh la la' of the French commentator is pretty much the perfect way to describe it too.
Although Messi's sumptuous volley didn't lead directly to a goal for Barca, he was able to lead the Catalan giants to a close-fought 1-0 win away to Bilbao on Sunday night.
The win, secured through an Ivan Rakitic header at the end of a typically electric break, ensured the La Liga giants made it two wins from two at the start of the league campaign.
With Real Madrid also perfect through the first couple of weeks, Barcelona know they will have to be at the top of their game this season if they are to retain the La Liga title.
When you've got players with the capability of Messi, however, you always know you will be in with a shot when it comes down to the wire.
There are plenty more games to be played across Europe this season, but you are unlikely to see a better pass than the one served up by the Argentinian forward on Sunday.
