Manchester United fans must have been watching the international friendly between Italy and France with great interest.

With both Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial starting for France, United supporters would have been praying that the pair didn’t pick up any injuries during the exhibition match.

Their next thought would have been that they were looking forward to seeing how Pogba and Martial link-up for their national side.

Well, after just 17 minutes, they saw just that.

The world’s most expensive footballer, Pogba, found space inside his own half and played a through ball to his club teammate Martial.

Although Giorgio Chiellini probably should have dealt with the pass better, it found Martial who made no mistake by firing the ball past  Gianluigi Buffon.

Take a look at the goal below:

Understandably, United fans were pretty excited on Twitter:

That Martial goal was his first for his country in his 13th appearance as he plans to nail down a regular starting spot for Les Bleus.

Martial failed to make a significant impact at this summer’s Euro 2016 as France lost to Portugal in the final of their host tournament.

But, with the 20-year-old set to play an important role for Jose Mourinho’s side this season, Martial can surely expect to be involved more often for France and his goal is likely to be the first of many.

Back in Italy and Martial’s opener was soon cancelled out by former Southampton striker Graziano Pelle before Arsenal forward Olivier Giroud put France 2-1 up at half-time.

Fans of the Red Devils will just be hoping Martial and Pogba don’t pick up any injuries during the second-half ahead of the Manchester derby next weekend.
