Mario Balotelli labels Jamie Carragher a 'bad player' in brilliant tweet

So, Mario Balotelli has finally left Liverpool.

The Italian was signed by the Reds for £16 million two years ago but, after scoring just four goals in 28 appearances, was allowed to join Nice on a free transfer this summer.

It doesn’t take a football expert to work out that Balotelli’s spell at Liverpool wasn’t exactly a success.

However, club legend Jamie Carragher took it upon himself to make sure people knew just how bad the Italian was during his time at Anfield.

Last month, Carragher branded the Balotelli signing as a “major mistake” from the club. But that was nothing compared to his reaction when the enigmatic forward completed his move this week.

The former defender tweeted: “Balotelli on a free is still paying over the odds by Nice.”

What Carragher probably didn’t expect was for Balotelli to reply. But he has done just that.

The 26-year-old responded to Carragher’s abuse by saying: Jamie Carragher, bad player, wonderful hater @Carra23, who cares.” He accompanied the tweet with a shiny trophy with the tag of ‘best hater.’

Liverpool fans will no doubt disagree with the ‘bad player’ bit, especially as Carragher had a much better career at the club than Balotelli.

While Balotelli only lasted one season, Carragher made an incredible 737 appearances for the Merseysiders, lifting two FA Cups, three League Cups, a UEFA Cup and a Champions League during that time.

However, after tagging him in his tweet, we’re eagerly awaiting Carragher's reply.

While Balotelli’s tweet was pretty epic, the replies were possibly even better. Everyone was absolutely the fact that Balotelli has responded to the hate.

Get the popcorn out, this could get very interesting.
