Jamie Carragher was never one to shy away from a 50/50 challenge during his Liverpool days but you would have thought the former Premier League star would take it easy in last Friday's Wembley Cup.

The charity game featured an assortment of Premier League legends and some YouTube stars as well. It was designed to promote the new batch of FIFA Legends, due to be added to the EA Sports game when the new version is released later this month.

It should have been a joyous occasion but Carragher was having none of it. He targeted a couple of young lads, appearing to elbow one straight in the neck. But it was the challenge on Joe Weller, one of the night's captains, who got fans talking.

Firstly, Weller stirred the pot when he tweeted the 38-year-old the night before the game. He asked if he was 'ready' to take on his side, the ‘Weller Wanderers’.

While Carragher failed to respond before the match, it appears Carragher saw his message and decided to do is talking on the pitch. Here's what he had in store for the cocky young star:

The camera then cut to the Sky Sports pundit, who was seen mouthing something at the YouTuber. It appears to these untrained eyes that he was calling Weller a “stupid pr*ck”.

But while Weller appeared in a lot of pain at the time, Carragher gave him the best present a YouTuber could hope for: a little bit more publicity. With over three million subscribers, Weller is doing pretty well for himself but his latest video is surely set to be one of his most watched.

In a five-minute tirade titled 'FOOTBALLER ATTACKS YOUTUBER', Weller completely takes Carragher apart telling him to 'grow up' amongst other things.
