Sasha Banks delivered a huge statement this past week on Monday Night Raw. At first, it looked like she was about to give some genuine bad news regarding her injuries; that wasn’t the case, though.
When Dana Brooke interrupted and fell victim to the Bank Statement, Banks revealed that the bad news was for Charlotte, who will have to defend the Women’s Championship at Clash of Champions against The Boss.
Although that was good news for her fans, who see her as the finest female athlete on the roster, some stars backstage apparently weren’t happy with her promo.

This is according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, who have reported that the feeling among those that are upset with the promo is that the company tried to use the emotion of the Daniel Bryan retirement speech, but they ended up with a poor angle instead.
They’re also claiming that one unnamed veteran brought up the retirement segment by Edge, as well as mentioning Tyson Kidd who has been out for over a year with a neck injury.
They felt that Banks’ promo was in poor taste because of the real-life situations that have happened, and the WWE tried to take advantage of it.
NO HEAT ON THE BOSS
This is because Bryan and Kidd are obviously well-liked backstage as well as the board, and although it drew comparisons to the Mark Henry retirement speech, this was aimed more at career-ending injuries which in turn, ended up being a sensitive subject to the friends of the injured wrestlers.
The key thing to note is that there’s absolutely no heat on Sasha, but the stars are reportedly upset with creative who would have told her what to say inside of the ring.
She’s a popular star, so it probably won’t be too long before all of this is forgotten and they can move on from it.
