It was Pep Guardiola who triumphed in the first Manchester derby of the season.

Goals from Kevin De Bruyne and Kelechi Iheanacho secured a 2-1 victory for City over Jose Mourinho’s United.

Everyone had their own views before the match over which side would take all three points - but Piers Morgan got his predictions horribly wrong.

The broadcaster and journalist was convinced United would win the game.

He also predicted Paul Pogba would be named Man of the Match.

Piers Morgan's Manchester derby predictions

Unfortunately for Morgan, the French midfielder failed to impose himself on the game during the 90 minutes.

The Good Morning Britain presenter did, however, correctly predict that Zlatan Ibrahimovic would score.

The Swedish striker capitalised after a mistake by City debutant Claudio Bravo on the stroke of half-time.
