Kurt Angle has been heavily linked with a return to World Wrestling Entertainment in recent months, and it could finally be set to happen in 2017.

According to NoDQ, talks are already underway to make Angle the 'additional character' on next year's wrestling game, 2k18.

WWE have been keen on using former stars to help promote their games in the past few years, with the likes of Sting, Goldberg, and Ultimate Warrior all being additional characters for the last few games.

With Angle's future in the wrestling industry still very unclear, there has been plenty of talk that he will return to WWE for one last goodbye, but as of yet, nothing is planned or set in stone.

Angle admitted that he would likely return to WWE in 2017, and it now looks like that could fall into place with his inclusion in their next computer game.

It's believed Angle would work with 2k Sports, similar to how Sting, Goldberg, and Ultimate Warrior did, to help promote the game when it's ready for release.

According to NoDQ, 2k officials see Angle as the best choice and the top option, which could then also see him feature in WWE programming as that is usually what happens in some way, shape, or form.

Angle was one of the forefront wrestlers during WWE's attitude era, becoming a four-time WWF/WWE Champion, and a one-time World Heavyweight Champion.

He also held the WWF Intercontinental Championship, the WWF European Championship, and the WWF Hardcore Championship.

Angle was also a one-time WWE Tag Team Champion, when he and his partner Chris Benoit won the titles.
