Manchester United may have come unstuck in today’s lunchtime derby but it wasn’t all that bad for one United star.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic continued his excellent start to life at Old Trafford with another goal. Though it turned out to be a mere consolation, it took the Swede’s tally to five goals in five appearances for his new club.

Those who thought the 34-year-old would struggle in the Premier League are being made to look like fools.

United won’t be celebrating this evening Ibrahimovic can enjoy a tipple after finding the net once again. If he continues in this vein of form, United will be challenging for the title in May.

The former Paris Saint-Germain has won titles in Holland, Spain, Italy and France, and is seeking to add a Premier League winners medal to his collection.

His ventures around Europe have seen him play in some of the biggest matches in football, including El Clasico, the Milan derby and the Derby D’Italia, between Inter Milan and Juventus.

Would you believe it, he’s scored in them all.

Ibrahimovic’s strike against City meant he became the first player to score in seven of Europe’s most high-profile derbies.

The seven rivalry matches Ibrahimovic has scored in:

Manchester derby: MANCHESTER UNITED vs Manchester City
El Clasico: BARCELONA vs Real Madrid
Milan derby: INTER vs AC Milan
Milan derby: AC MILAN vs Inter
Derby D’Italia: INTER vs Juventus
De Klassieker: AJAX vs Feyenoord
Le Classique: PSG vs Marseille

Talk about being a big-game player.

Ibrahimovic must be tempted to move to Germany to score in Der Klassiker, the contest between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.
