Carlos Tevez sent off for Boca Juniors following awful comment to referee

Football News

Not for the first time in his career, Carlos Tevez has followed up a moment of brilliance with a moment of pure stupidity.

The Argentine striker, who returned to his beloved Boca Juniors last summer, scored a wonderful individual goal during Sunday night’s 3-0 victory over Belgrano.

However, he followed that up a minute later with two yellow cards in less than 60 seconds.

His first booking was for a late challenge, which fully deserved at least a booking.

But Tevez wasn’t happy with the decision and reacted by saying some pretty disgraceful words to the referee, German Delfino.

Tevez's abusive comment to the referee

According to Goal, Tevez said to the match official: "Your sister's whorish c***”.

Delfino, after hearing Tevez’s response, quickly span around and showed a second yellow card - and then the red - to the Boca hero.

Tevez can have no complaints about the red card

The former Manchester City and Juventus star could have absolutely no complaints about the ref’s decision: there’s no place in football for such abusive language.

Tevez and his teammates were bemused and angry with the second yellow card but, if reports are true about the language he used, it was undoubtedly the correct decision.

Despite Tevez’s moment of madness, Boca went on to win the match 3-0.

The Argentine giants now climb to 13th in the league table, after two rounds of matches played, following their opening weekend defeat to Lanus before the international break.
