EA Sports have been teasing gamers ahead of the release of FIFA 17 by releasing the player ratings of the games biggest stars.

There was a fierce reaction to Cristiano Ronaldo receiving a better rating than Lionel Messi for the first time since FIFA 09.

The hugely successful games developer wanted to create a discussion and they’ve done just that. Gamers are now eagerly anticipating the September 29 release date (September 27 in North America).

Ronaldo and Messi will be top of everybody’s wish lists when it comes to building an Ultimate Team, but for the hipster gamer out there, Adebayor Akinfenwa is the number one target.

The Wycombe Wanderers striker doesn’t have Gareth Bale’s pace. He doesn’t have Neymar’s skill, or Lionel Messi’s dribbling ability. What Akinfenwa does have, however, is strength.

The Beast

The 34-year-old has become something of a cult hero for being rather, well, huge. According to the BBC, he weighs 16 stone, or 102kg. For a professional footballer tasked with playing 90 minutes every weekend, that’s incredible.

He was given a strength rating of 98 in FIFA 16 and is back again as FIFA 17’s strongest player. Watch Akinfenwa react to his rating below.

The striker took to Instagram to post a hilarious response in which he thanked his mum, his dad and chicken for making him so strong.

“Yesssssss I want to thank God, my Mum & Dad & Chicken,” Akinfenwa wrote. “O & a massive S/O to @easportsfifa for making me yet again the strongest football in the WORLD.”

Akinfenwa has a rating of 64 in FIFA 17, making him a bronze-level player. Yet you can bet your bottom dollar that he won’t come cheap on the market.
