AJ Green absolutely destroyed Darrelle Revis and Revis Island

The Cincinnati Bengals went into New York on Sunday and came out with a 23-22 win at MetLife Stadium.

The big takeaway from the game, apart from the fact that the Jets defensive line absolutely crushed the Bengals' O-Line and hit Andy Dalton more times than he ever had before in his NFL career to date, was AJ Green's phenomenal.

Green utterly and completely dominated Darrelle Revis all day long. This isn't Revis getting burnt once or twice, this was the destruction of a legend at the hands of one of the best wide receivers in football.

When going up against Revis, who is a seven-time Pro Bowler, Green had 10 receptions on 10 targets for 152 yards and a touchdown. That is unseen from a receiver facing Revis.

Incredibly, Andy Dalton had a perfect passer rating when throwing at a receiver who was covered by Revis. Seriously, he had a 158.3 QBR, the best a quarterback can get.

Darrelle Revis was once the best cornerback in football. He is still actually getting paid like one of the best cornerbacks in football but that is beside the point.

Unless AJ Green is about to step up and become Jerry Rice 2.0, we are seeing the demise of Revis Island. And people were being absolutely savage about it on Twitter including former NFL head coach Brian Billick.

Poor Darrelle. All he did was have one bad day at the office. Let's see if he can rebound next weekend when the Jets take on the Buffalo Bills...and Sammy Watkins. Oh dear. Thursday Night Football could get very ugly.
