Unfortunately for Styles, he was confronted by an old enemy as John Cena finally returned to Smackdown for the first time since SummerSlam.

Not willing to just relinquish his hold on the title though, former champion Dean Ambrose joined Styles and Cena in the ring.

There was a lot of tension between the three superstars and Smackdown commissioner Shane McMahon was on hand to take care of the situation.

The segment got very personal as Ambrose launched a big rant on Cena in which he even referred to him as a 'lazy part-timer'.

McMahon - never one to let an opportunity pass him by was quick to make the match that everyone wanted as Cena, Styles and Ambrose will now compete in a triple threat match at No Mercy.

In tonight's main event, we saw Styles team with the Miz to take on his two challengers for No Mercy in a tag team match.

Cena and Ambrose may have come away with the win at the end of the show, but Ambrose reminded the returning Cena what it's like on the blue brand by delivering Dirty Deeds to him to end the show.
