Whenever Arsenal are playing poorly, there is one man that will take over your Twitter newsfeed.
That man is, of course, Piers Morgan.
The TV presenter is a passionate Arsenal supporter but loves a good moan whenever things aren’t going his side’s way - and is also firmly in the ‘Arsene Wenger out’ camp.
For years, Morgan has insisted that Wenger should leave the north London club after his failure to win a Premier League trophy since 2004.
However, it’s not always doom and gloom as far as Morgan is concerned - he thinks the Gunners have a few decent players in their ranks.
When asked by a follower who will be Arsenal’s star man this season, Morgan decided to name the club’s two best players.
But, there was no room for Alexis Sanchez as Morgan opted for Mesut Ozil and Santi Cazorla. Interesting stuff.
Snubbing Sanchez will certainly come as a surprise for many Gooners. The Chilean has been magnificent since signing from Barcelona in 2014, scoring 44 goals in 97 appearances in all competitions.
Instead, Morgan prefers Ozil who has struggled at times since his transfer from Real Madrid in 2013 - although he was in fine form for the majority of last season.
But the most surprising selection was Cazorla. There’s certainly no doubting the Spaniard’s playing ability but he only played 21 times in all competitions last season after being riddled with injury. To be fair to Morgan, the 31-year-old has started this campaign superbly, scoring twice in four matches as he looks to return to full fitness.
A football expert Morgan certainly isn’t, but Arsenal supporters will no doubt find his views interesting as to who he considers to be the club’s best players.
One thing is for sure, Ozil, Cazorla and their teammates will have to be at their very best if they’re to compete with the likes of Manchester United and Manchester City for Premier League glory this season.
