Marcos Rojo slammed by Man United fans after Feyenoord loss

The form of Luke Shaw so far this season has reminded all Manchester United supporters just how much they missed him when he suffered a double leg break 12 months ago.

And it took just one game without him this term for United fans to remember just how poor the left side of defence was during his absence.

Shaw was rested for the Red Devils' Europa League match against Feyenoord on Thursday night and Jose Mourinho turned to Marcos Rojo to deputise in Holland.

In a particularly unmemorable clash which finished in a 1-0 defeat for Mourinho's men, Rojo stood out as one of the weakest players on the pitch.

The Argentine has failed to convince many since arriving at Old Trafford in 2014 and he did nothing to improve his standing amongst supporters with another disappointing display.

He was constantly out of position and put plenty of strain on Chris Smalling to cover in what was also his first start of the campaign.

It was also down his left flank where Nicolai Jorgensen exploited the space vacated by Rojo to deliver a pinpoint cross to Tonny Vilhena who struck home from 12 yards in the 79th minute.

As you would expect, Rojo's poor performance drew plenty of reaction from fans on Twitter. Here are some of the best tweets:

United fans can take some consolation in the fact Shaw is expected to be back in the side for their next match against Watford on Sunday.

However, two defeats in less than seven days has confirmed that Mourinho's honeymoon period at Man United is well and truly over.
