David Luiz trolled on Twitter after Liverpool defeat

David Luiz won't look back on his second Chelsea debut too fondly after suffering a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Liverpool on Friday night.

Much was expected of the Brazilian but he, alongside his teammates, ultimately failed to deliver and deserved to miss out on all three points.

It all started so well for Luiz, too. Within the first couple of minutes he was given his first touch and then found Eden Hazard with a lovely 40-yard pass.

But with 16 minutes on the clock, Chelsea found themselves 1-0 down following some truly awful defending, where Dejan Lovren was left free at the back post to volley home Philippe Coutinho's dangerous cross.

And 20 minutes later, it was 2-0. Gary Cahill's poor clearance fell to Jordan Henderson, who crashed a 30-yard strike into the top-right corner.

A disappointing first half for Luiz was epitomised by the bloody nose he received after a clash of heads with Sadio Mane.

Liverpool would eventually run out 2-1 victors and, in turn, ruin Luiz's homecoming - but what did Twitter make of the Brazilian's performance?

Well, while some believe he was Chelsea's best player - which wasn't difficult, let's face it - Luiz still managed to be trolled.

As part of Sky Sports' punditry team in the build-up to the game, Gary Neville raised doubts about Luiz's move to Chelsea and brilliantly compared it to him being with Miss World.

"When I think of Antonio Conte's centre-halves from the last few years, they're very solid and know the zonal system," he said.

"David Luiz is obviously a big talent, but I would have never put those two together. I'm trying to think of an analogy - it's probably like me and Miss World!"

The reality of it is that it can only get better for Luiz, because who knows, perhaps Conte can teach him what no manager has managed before: how to defend.
