AJ Styles shuts down James Ellsworth's apology on Twitter

It was an interesting first SmackDown LIVE as WWE World Champion for AJ Styles this past Tuesday, as he was moments away from being James Ellsworth's tag team partner.

Although his name isn't well known with the WWE Universe, his face certainly is. He is the jobber who got ripped apart by Braun Strowman on Monday Night Raw last month.

With Styles put in a tag team match against John Cena and Dean Ambrose, SmackDown LIVE commissioner Shane McMahon gave the champion a chance to pick his own partner.

After being snubbed by Baron Corbin and Kane, it looked like a handicap match was on the cards for Styles, but in stepped general manager Daniel Bryan, who gave the champion Ellsworth.

However, upon making his way down to the ring, Ellsworth was jumped from behind by Intercontinental Champion The Miz, who then became Styles' tag team partner.

Using Ellsworth on SmackDown LIVE has got Bryan into trouble with Raw general manager Mick Foley, who penned an open letter to his rival GM stating that Ellsworth is part of the Raw roster.

Clearly all one big joke, the WWE Universe are actually buying into the jobber and WWE could use him in the future for more comedic segments.

After failing to make the tag team match alongside Styles, Ellsworth took to Twitter to apologise to the WWE World Champion, but the new face that runs the place wasn't having any of it.

Ellsworth tweeted: "@AJStylesOrg sorry I didn't make it to the ring on #SDLive buddy, can we still be friends?"

Only for the champ to quote the tweet along with his own message of: "Shut up @realellsworth."

Consider that apology rejected.
