Granit Xhaka scores 30-yard screamer for Arsenal vs Hull

Arsenal have found a player in Granit Xhaka.

The midfielder, a £35 million signing from Borussia Monchengladbach, scored an absolute beauty as Arsenal ran riot at Hull City.

Alexis Sanchez’s brace helped Arsenal to a 4-1 win but it was Xhaka’s strike in the 92nd minute that was the pick of the bunch.

He picked the ball up roughly 35 yards from goal before advancing a few steps. Unchallenged, the Switzerland international simply decided to take a hit. And we’re so glad he did.

This is his first Arsenal goal but he’ll do well to score another one. Scroll down to check it out.

Xhaka's goal

It will be up there alongside Jordan Henderson’s goal last night against Chelsea for goal of the month, for sure. Perhaps even goal of the season.

Of course, Twitter went into hysterics. Piers Morgan was among those to express his disbelief.

Second in the table

The Gunners secured their third league win a row, and in impressive style, too.

Sanchez opened the scoring in the 17th minute after Alex Iwobi’s shot nicked off the Chilean’s foot. Arsenal’s task of picking up three points was made all the more easier when Jake Livermore was sent off before the interval for handball.

Sanchez missed a penalty but Theo Walcott ensured the Gunners weren't made to pay for his error with his 100th career goal.

Robert Snodrass reduced the deficit in the 79th minute but Sanchez, who scored in the midweek draw to Paris Saint-Germain, restored Arsenal’s two-goal deficit four minutes later.

Then, in stoppage time, came Xhaka’s thunderbolt.
