La Liga is never short of wonder goals.

While it's always worth keeping an eye on the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, it's not just Real Madrid and Barcelona who score a screamer every now and again.

This weekend, it was the turn of Villarreal's Nicola Sansone, and what a goal it was.

The Yellow Submarine secured a 2-1 win over Real Sociedad, so Sansone's strike proved to be the winner.

In fact, it was all anyone was talking about after the game, and rightly so.

Winning goals do not come much better than this one. Picking up the ball close to the halfway line, the Italian showed great awareness to spot Sociedad goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli off his line and produce a thunderbolt of a strike. David Bentley-esque, some might say.

Take a look at the wonder goal here:

That's got to be a contender for Goal of the Season already. The lad won't hit too many more like that if he plays for another fifty years, that's for sure.

Sansone's screamer

Sansone had already got himself on the scoresheet, but as his second strike was such a thing of beauty, he's probably already forgotten about the first.

Having moved from Serie A side Sassuolo this summer, Sansone's got off to a flyer at Villarreal.

The 24-year-old might not be a household name, but given that he's now scored three in four games since arriving in La Liga, it's about time Spanish football sat up and took notice.

What's the best goal that's been scored so far this season? Let us know in the comments.
