The Los Angeles Rams made their long-awaited return to the NFL at the weekend as they played their first regular season game in LA since the 90s.

LeBron James was at the Coliseum to take in the game in that famous old stadium and it is safe to say that the Cleveland Cavaliers star didn't exactly get the best of receptions.

LeBron couldn't have expected anything else to happen in Los Angeles, as fans chanted "Kobe" at him as he walked onto the field. Scroll down to watch.

Despite his retirement and poor last few years in the league, the love that Los Angeles has for the Black Mamba is real and for life.

The whole saga also saw the Cowboys and Rams twitter accounts having a lovely little tete-a-tete about LeBron and whose team he really supports.

All excellent work from the respective social media managers, I am sure you will all agree.

The whole saga was topped off by James balancing a miniature helmet on his head. At least we think it's a mini and LeBron's head hasn't just expanded like Ken Griffey Jr. in that one excellent episode of The Simpsons.
