One of Ronaldinho's former teammates has revealed how a career spent partying meant he only turned up for training on a Friday.

According to Jerome Leroy, who played with the Brazilian at Paris Saint-Germain, Ronaldinho would arrive for training the day before a match, only to head straight to the massage table and sleep.

Much has been made about Ronaldinho's party lifestyle but we never realised it had this affect. Just imagine how good he would have been if he cared for his body, in the same way that Cristiano Ronaldo does.

In 2008, a journalist explained how the Brazilian spent the night before a Barcelona game against Manchester United in the Champions League partying until beyond 5am.

It's worth noting that Ronaldinho missed the game through injury, but his seemingly carefree attitude must have been a concern.

Leroy, who watched Ronaldinho blossom into a superstar in France before he left for Barcelona, has revealed all about the magician's bizarre habits.

"Ronaldinho didn't train any day of the week and would just turn up on a Friday for the game on Saturday," said Leroy, per the Mirror.

"I think he was trying to follow in the steps of Romario, who would also go out every night, but he didn't have the same success.

"Players with great talent like [Ronaldinho], they're a bit crazy," Leroy added.

"Every morning he'd come in with sunglasses. He'd get changed and he's go straight to the massage bed to sleep."

And yet the 36-year-old still managed to win the Ballon d'Or. Maybe all that partying did Ronaldinho a favour.
