Neymar and Luis Suarez gang up on Gerard Pique

As well as being among the best players on the planet, Neymar and Luis Suarez are developing somewhat of a reputation for being the big prankers at Barcelona.

When you are as good as they are, you can forgive them for not being in the zone every minute of every day and sometimes the best way to keep spirits high can involve mocking each other and, on the odd occasion, their teammates.

Footage emerged earlier this week of Neymar tricking Suarez into holding a piece of chewing gum the Brazilian had just taken out of his mouth prior to their match against Leganes on Saturday.

And they were at it again just a few days later, but this time, the duo decided to work together to prank defender Gerard Pique.

It would appear that it isn't just on the pitch where the pair form a deadly combination as they cleverly manufactured a method to soak their Spanish teammate.

They were inspired to perform the trick after Suarez had casually squirted the Brazilian with water from his bottle - much to Neymar's dismay.

But the duo saw Pique as the ideal victim of an escalated prank and subsequently caught him unawares.

Pretending to be engaged in deep conversation, the two forwards waited for Pique to approach them before Neymar rapidly ducked out of the way as Suarez attempted to empty the rest of the bottle directly on the centre-back.

Pique looked less than impressed with his teammates' 'banter' but even Luis Enrique saw the funny side as he watched on in the background.

Irritating a defender you are likely to come up against shortly in training is a bit of a risky move but Neymar and Suarez were both delighted with the outcome.

It does prove what many critics of the game hate about footballers, they are all just big kids at heart.
