So no doubt that the champion would take a keen interest in the outcome of the match tonight.

He did more than that however as he would actually attack his two challengers after the match was over and Dean Ambrose had seen his hand raised in victory.

Styles' attack drew Smackdown General Manager Daniel Bryan out to the arena and he had a very interesting announcement for his champion.

Announcing that the promise made by Shane McMahon last week would be kept, Bryan made a WWE Championship match for next week's show.

Former Champion Dean Ambrose will now get his one on one opportunity to reclaim what Styles took off of him at Backlash.

Setting up a main event for next week in which two of Smackdown's biggest names will battle over the title, they have issued a big challenge to RAW who have an important week ahead.

Ratings war

Smackdown and RAW are locked in a battle for ratings and Smackdown making a WWE title match for next week, now heaps a lot more pressure on RAW.

This Sunday is RAW's first exclusive PPV, Clash of Champions, and they will need to impress their audience if they wish to draw the viewers back for the next night on RAW.
