Cam Newton puts in star performance in NFL week two review

NFL week two is in the books and it was a pretty damn good one all things considered.

Rivalry week, as some decided to call it, pitted a lot of divisional rivals up against each other and there were some very interesting results.

Cam Newton was the obvious star of the show as the Carolina Panthers powered through to a huge 46-27 win over the San Francisco 49ers. Newton ran the show for the devastating Panthers, ending the night with over 350 yards and four touchdowns.

Not to be outdone, Kelvin Benjamin also made his way into the highlight reel with a superb juggling catch in his exceptional 108-yard, two touchdown performance.

Dak Prescott also put in a nice performance and staked his reputation as one for the future as the Dallas Cowboys managed to come from behind to take down Kirk Cousins and the Washington Redskins on the road.

The Saint Louis Rams provided the biggest upset of the week as they beat the much-fancied Seattle Seahawks in an NFC West clash. They managed to do that despite not reaching the endzone once in a 9-3 victory.

On the other hand, however, the Green Bay Packers weren't impressing anyone as they went down to the Vikings in Sam Bradford's first game in purple. It wasn't all good news for Minnesota, however, as they lost Adrian Peterson to a knee injury that will require surgery and cause him to miss the next few months.

The Steelers - Bengals AFC North matchup won game of the week honours, but Cincinnati certainly won't see it that way after losing 24-16 in Pittsburgh.

Special mentions were given to DeAngelo Williams and Von Miller for solid performances, while Russell Wilson and Rex Ryan need to improve drastically.
