While WWE SummerSlam proved to be a huge hit this year, following Finn Balor’s impressive win over Seth Rollins to become the new Universal Champion, as well as AJ Styles picking up a clean victory over John Cena, most of the spotlight fell on Brock Lesnar and Randy Orton.
The two battled it out in the main event, and rightfully so in the Raw vs. SmackDown rivalry, but the actions that ended the match caused Chris Jericho to worry about Orton’s health.
The backstage spat was well-documented online when the news was revealed. Lesnar and Jericho got into each other’s faces and had to be split up by Vince McMahon and Triple H as they told him that it was all a work.

Speaking on Chael Sonnen’s “You’re Welcome” podcast, Jericho revealed he was just concerned because of how violent the match turned out to be.
He also spoke of how he isn’t one to back down from a fight, and that he did say something which caused Lesnar to get in his face.
He said: “When I see a friend of mine lying in a pool of his own blood, whether it’s a work or not, that’s real blood.
“That’s a real concussion that he suffered. So I wanna go and check and see if he’s okay.”
Jericho was man enough to admit that it wasn’t his business to get involved in, but with Orton being a close friend of his, he felt he had to step up and say something.
On the podcast, he also said he made a comment to Lesnar, which he misinterpreted and Lesnar called him a p***y before getting in each other’s faces.
You can’t exactly blame Jericho for doing what he did. He acted like the locker room leader the backstage stars probably need, and he was right to be concerned in the end, with Orton concussed and also receiving 10 staples in his head following the match.
