For most FIFA enthusiasts, playing as Antoine Griezmann is about as good as it gets.

Other than the obvious choices of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, there's arguably no better player in the world right now than the tricky Atletico Madrid star.

It's partly thanks to him that Atleti are such a fashionable club among the football hipsters of the world, but Griezmann has made a hilarious admission that will no doubt intrigue his many admirers.

The Frenchman has told Le Parisien that while he loves playing video games, particularly FIFA, he can't let himself play as Atletico. Why?

"I do not play with Atlético, otherwise I give myself all the time the ball."

Brilliant. To be fair, that's what anyone would do playing as Atletico. In fact, it's what the real Atletico do, so you can't really blame him.

Griezmann explained how he and back-up goalkeeper Miguel Angel Moya love to have a crack on career mode to try and transform a team into the best it can be, even if that's not their own club.

Living the life

It sounds like Griezmann has quite the set-up in the Spanish capital, revealing how he spends most days:

"Training in the morning and then I stay home, play console or watch TV." Seriously, what a life.

The 25-year-old clearly loves his football, so much so that he doesn't need a break from thinking about it when he's not training. It's an obsession that's paying off, though, as he has four goals from four league games again this season.

The only thing that's missing, he says, is trophies. Griezmann's summer was hugely disappointing, as although he excelled for club and country, he ended up losing both the Champions League and Euro 2016 final.

Maybe if he could pass to himself in real life they might have been onto something.
