Cristiano Ronaldo endured a frustrating night as Real Madrid dropped two points away to Las Palmas.
Sergio Araujo’s 85th-minute equaliser meant Madrid left Estadio de Gran Canaria with just a point on a day in which Barcelona ate into their lead at the top of La Liga.
Having earlier watched a Barcelona team sans Lionel Messi destroy Sporting Gijon 5-0, the pressure was on Zinedine Zidane’s side to pick up three points against a Las Palmas club that has made an impressive start to the season.
Zidane included superstars Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Luka Modric in his starting line-up, but it was left to Karim Benzema to come off the bench to give Madrid a 2-1 lead in the 67th minute.
His goal came after Ronaldo saw his shot saved, and to say the Portuguese star was displeased would be an understatement.
We’ve seen Ronaldo react furiously when teammates fail to pass him the ball, or jump ahead of him to score a goal. But to see him lift his arm in the air in an apparent rage after Benzema restored Madrid’s lead makes him seem like football’s worst teammate.
Ronaldo might have been reacting disappointingly to his shot being saved. He expects to score in every game and so he was probably frustrated at wasting an opportunity.
Anyway, make your own mind up.

Ronaldo's reaction to being subbed
That wasn’t the first instance of Ronaldo expressing his frustration. He was taken off by Zidane with 18 minutes remaining and his face told you everything.
One eye on Tuesday
Asked about his reasoning for substituting his star player, Zidane admitted that he had Tuesday’s Champions League clash at Borussia Dortmund on his mind.
"I subbed Cristiano because we have a game on Tuesday,” the Frenchman told reporters. “He always wants to play.
"Cristiano must rest too sometimes. It was just for that. He was playing well."
