Football News

Arsene Wenger and the Arsenal supporters must be mightily relieved that Drogba Drogba is no longer at Chelsea.

The Ivory Coast international always used to score against the Gunners. In 16 appearances against the north London outfit, Drogba scored 16 goals.

Arsenal simply didn’t have an answer for the powerful forward, who left the Blues last year to finish his career in Major League Soccer with Montreal Impact.

Who knows what the score of Saturday’s Premier League fixture would have been if Drogba were still around.

Arsenal outplayed Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium and were excellent value for their 3-0 victory.

Walcott celebrated the win on Twitter...

Theo Walcott celebrated his side’s impressive performance on Twitter, shortly after the final whistle.

The England international posted a photo of himself celebrating his goal - Arsenal’s second - against the Blues, alongside the caption: “3-0 😁😁😁😁😁😁“.

Didier Drogba's response...

However, this tweet didn’t go unnoticed by Drogba, who couldn’t resist poking fun at Walcott with his own brilliant response.

“Congrats on your win bro @theowalcott,” Drogba tweeted, “but it is easy for the mouses to dance when the cats aren't there 😌😌😉😜”.

Drogba’s message to Walcott has already generated more than 11,000 retweets and almost 8,000 ‘likes’ and those numbers are bound to grow over the coming hours.

Arsenal fans won't care

But Drogba’s tweet won’t take anything away from the result for Arsenal fans - many of whom, we imagine, will be waking up with very sore heads this morning.

Would the result have been different if Chelsea had peak Didier Drogba in their side? Have your say by leaving a comment below.
