Laurent Koscielny brutally trolls Diego Costa with Instagram activity

There was plenty to admire about Arsenal's impressive 3-0 win over Chelsea on Saturday.

From free-flowing passing moves to Alexis Sanchez's delightful chip, the Gunners were in top form as they swept aside one of their rivals. And then there was the way Arsenal's defence kept Diego Costa in check.

Laurent Koscielny and Shkodran Mustafi put in a masterful display to keep the Spanish striker quiet at the Emirates and, in the aftermath of the win, it doesn't look like the former is ready to let his opponent forget about it.

That's after Koscielny was spotted engaging in some pretty cheeky Instagram activity on Sunday.

As is often the case these days, it wasn't long after the final whistle before social media was having a field day with the way the Arsenal defenders handled Costa. Indeed, there were several memes doing the rounds highlighting Koscielny and Mustafi's superiority on the day.

Usually players don't get involved in such frivolity. However, on this occasion, Koscielny apparently just couldn't resist as, according to 101 Great Goals, he liked not one, but three separate Instagram posts of photoshopped images mocking Costa.

The move is surely only likely to add to the frustration at Stamford Bridge right now and, given what we already know about Costa's short temper, it will mean the next meeting between Arsenal and Chelsea is even more tasty than usual.

Koscielny has every reason to be proud of his performance, though, after the Gunners secured their first league win over Chelsea since 2011.

Costa is a tough player to keep quiet for the full 90 minutes and already has a history of causing Arsenal trouble in his career in the Premier League to date.

However, he barely had a sniff in yesterday's encounter as Arsenal produced a dominant display against Antonio Conte's men.

The 3-0 win sees Arsenal move up to third in the table, five points behind leaders Manchester City.

Chelsea, meanwhile, have slipped to eights after their second successive defeat.
