Luis Suarez spotted kicking out at opponent off the ball

Luis Suarez was involved in another petty incident on Saturday after being spotted kicking out at an opponent off the ball.

Just a few days after controversially calling football 'a man's game' in response to Filipe Luis' Instagram post detailing the gruesome gash Suarez had left on him in a tackle, the Uruguayan was back in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.

Without Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta, Barcelona still strolled to a 5-0 victory at Sporting Gijon but Suarez risked becoming another absentee for Luis Enrique with a needless kick.

Suarez, who opened the scoring with a goal after just half an hour, clashed with Fernando Amorebieta after losing the ball.

Stupidly, the former Liverpool forward lashed out with his foot and connected with his opposite number's ankle.

Amorebieta was understandably upset and reacted angrily, much to Suarez's bewilderment after initially trying to apologise.

You can see the full incident in the video below as the pair continued to argue for some time afterwards.

The original incident was not picked up by the referee but both received a stern telling off for their persistent bickering later on.

Nevertheless, a very fortunate Suarez escaped any punishment - not for the first time.

The 29-year-old was involved in a similar clash with Atletico Madrid's Juanfran in last season's Champions League quarter-final.

A frustrated Suarez lashed out at the Atletico defender after the ball had been cleared but Felix Brych - the official that day - took no action and no retrospective ban was implemented either.

It looks like he has got away with it once again, however, Suarez cannot keep up this reckless behaviour and expect to get away with it forever.

Enrique's side might have overcome Sporting without Messi but they will not want to lose another member of 'MSN' for a prolonged period of time - particularly for such a stupid reason.
