Gran Turismo 7 Features: What’s New?

Gran Turismo is scheduled for release on Friday 4th March 2022.

The developers of Gran Turismo 7 have finally showcased some of their all-new features that will be arriving on the infamous virtual driving simulator in March.

Sony’s State of Play presentation that took place in February showcased a wide array of new cars, tracks and game modes which are set to be included in what will be the seventh mainline edition to the franchise.

This means that racers will have no shortage of races or activities to take part in during the game’s life, which means a never-ending cycle of wheel-to-wheel action could be on the cards to superfans of the Gran Turismo series.

Let’s take a deeper look at the features that will be on offer in Gran Turismo 7:

This is a hot topic for Gran Turismo 7 fans around the world, with endless comparisons being made to Microsoft’s Forza Horizon 5.

While not a lot of details have been revealed on this particular topic at the time of writing, Sony have been vocal about two particular game modes that will be new this year.

Music Rally

This captures the essence of the arcade-style gameplay of the original Gran Turismo game and will likely send players on an epic journey filled with nostalgia.

Music Rally is a time-attack challenge that is accompanied by tunes that will accompany you as you go from straight to apex. We got to see a short snippet of this during State of Play but we will likely see more in the coming days and weeks ahead.

Music Replays

This might not necessarily be a game mode, so to speak, but it is something that will be new to the Gran Turismo series.

Music replays is a way in which gamers can fully customise how they can watch back their races, thanks to the emphasis on music in this game and a wide array of camera locations.

There are other aspects of GT7 gameplay that are still up in the air, for example, the inclusion of realistic damage, which is something that fans have wanted for many years.

That being said, we are expected to find out more in the coming days and weeks regarding more features and game modes.

With Gran Turismo scheduled for release on Friday 4th March 2022, there is not much longer that fans of the series will have to wait to find out more, and get their hands on the game itself.
