Manchester United have been knocked out of the FA Cup after losing on penalties to Middlesbrough on Friday evening.

The game went to spot-kicks with the scores locked at 1-1.

The first 15 penalties were scored. Anthony Elanga then missed his spot-kick in sudden death to condemn United to a shock exit from the competition.

Middlesbrough's equaliser, scored by Matt Crooks in the 64th minute, was highly controversial.

Duncan Watmore accidentally handled the ball in the area. Play went on and he crossed the ball for Crooks to score.

Many would have expected the goal to be ruled out. But, VAR looked at the incident and the goal was allowed to stand.

By the rule book, the right decision was made.

Mark Goldbridge, presenter for The United Stand, was one supporter who was expecting the goal to be ruled out. He was then horrified when the goal was given.

His reaction to the goal is so comical it's going viral on social media. Watch it below...

Goldbridge was confident the goal would get disallowed.

He started: "He's handballed it. He's b***** handballed it. There's VAR. We'll be fine. Look at them celebrating. He's handballed it, I can see it from here. It's not a goal, it's a handball. Shut up, calm down. Don't worry about it.

"I almost feel sorry for him. Crooks: You are going to make yourself look like a right prat. There's VAR in the FA Cup at Old Trafford. They are running around like they've won the World Cup. Absolute prats. He thinks he's it.

"I can't believe they've celebrated it. I can't believe the guy who handballed it has run over there and celebrated it. I'll never understand in the modern game how players do it. They know they've handballed it. You can't do that."

The goal is then given and Goldbridge can't believe his eyes.

He says in despair: "He's given it! What the f***! He's given it! What the b***** hell! How has he given the goal?! He's b***** handballed it. How the hell has that been given. Are you having a b****** laugh? Somebody tell me the rules. What the actual f*** has gone on there. How the hell has that been given?!"

Goldbridge can't be the only United fan that reacted to the whole incident in a similar manner.
