Drew McIntyre is still set to feud with Universal Champion Roman Reigns at some stage this year, a new report has claimed.

Prior to his injury, which pretty much kept him out of the entirety of January, it was believed that Drew McIntyre could be feuding with Roman Reigns at some point in the future.

That is still very much the plan, at least if a new report from Dave Meltzer is to be believed.

In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer explains that WWE is very much still planning on having McIntyre and Reigns feud at some point.

Meltzer even explained that WWE was considering doing Drew McIntyre vs. Roman Reigns during the early part of 2022, leading into Reigns vs. Lesnar at WrestleMania.

However, with McIntyre still feuding with Madcap Moss and Reigns set to feud with Goldberg, that seems unlikely to happen:

Drew McIntyre is very much in the plans for an opponent for Reigns at some point. Before his injury, there was talk of Reigns vs. McIntyre as Reigns’ program in the early part of the year in getting to Lesnar.

As of right now, there is no word on when WWE is planning on having Drew McIntyre and Roman Reigns clash, so stay tuned to GiveMeSport for any potential updates on that.

The pair had a one-on-one match as the top champions of Raw and SmackDown at Survivor Series in 2020, but have not wrestled on TV since then.

The theory was that WWE was keeping them apart for a feud down the line, and it seems based on these reports that those theories were accurate.
