Ronda Rousey was 'spoken to' by people within WWE about the divisive promo she cut on last week's episode of WWE Raw.

Ronda Rousey cut a promo on last week's episode of Monday Night Raw, just 48 hours after returning to WWE and winning the women's Royal Rumble match.

Fans noticed that Ronda Rousey seemed to be playing the role of a heel during her promo, but this wasn't exactly what WWE's creative team had in mind.

Reports state that Rousey was supposed to be playing a babyface, so WWE higher-ups have been forced to step in and speak to the former UFC star.

Ronda Rousey holds a lot of legitimate resentment towards WWE fans for turning on her during her first run with the company, but she's going to have to put that to one side for the next few months.

Dave Meltzer is reporting on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio that Rousey is a babyface right now in WWE, and she was spoken after her promo this week about acting less like a heel:

“I believe that people were talking to her about Monday. She acknowledged the fans. She was very very bitter coming back, and I think that that was not a good attitude to have, especially since she’s being portrayed as a babyface.

Regarding fans turning on her, Meltzer even explains that people within the company told her that she has to "let that go" if she is going to be a babyface:

“I know people who talked to her about certain things. It was explained that you have to let that go (the fans turning on her), because if you’re gonna be bitter about that, you’re not gonna be a very good babyface.”

Just like her first run, Rousey is expected to start out a face in WWE, and then transition into a heel during the latter part of her run.

It is expected that Rousey is going to turn heel, while Becky Lynch will turn babyface, to set up a match at WrestleMania 38, which you can read more about by clicking here.
